Sarah and Jun

Sarah was born and raised in Regina, Canada where she grew up playing ice hockey and enjoying life in the countryside. She graduated with a degree in Biochemistry, and began working in Kids Church at Living Hope Alliance Church, where she and her family attended. In the summer of 2022, Sarah moved to Japan to teach English.

Jun grew up in Saitama, a city just north of Tokyo in Japan. He moved to the United States just before high school graduation, and studied English and Nutrition across the Western USA for 6 years during university. When he moved back to Japan in 2020, Jun worked in sales for 2 years. But after hearing a worship song at Paz Coffee Shop during a sales call, Jun realized the cafe was a church and felt God was leading him to attend service and work there. So, he changed his job and began working at and attending the church.

It was here that Sarah met Jun as she also began attending on Sundays. Both became heavily involved in the young adult’s family group and enrolled in the same class of Paz Bible College. Jun became involved in translation, the sound and media teams, and other areas of ministry. While Sarah used her experience in kids’ ministry to help with creating the new Paz Kids curriculum. After about a year of dating, the two got married in February of 2025. And shortly afterwards they decided to become full time missionaries and church planters with Paz Japan in order to be fully used by God in Japan! They are continuing to prepare themselves for life in ministry and following the calling of becoming pastors. Day by day they’re learning the best ways to serve God and their church as they prepare to take part in future church plants across Japan. They’re also excited to welcome their first child in March 2026!
